Meet the Bechtels

Growing a beautiful flower garden was something Chyla has dreamt about for years. At Dave and Chyla’s first home, the majority of the flower beds and vegetable gardens were covered in shade. (which is more than fine unless you’re trying to grow plants that thrive in full sunlight!) So when they moved to Oconomowoc two years ago, their new home had all the afternoon sun imaginable and the dreams of an abundant garden quickly became a reality.

Chyla worked as an athletic trainer for the last 10 years at a local high school, but two summers ago, their family changed gears a bit and Chyla is now a substitute ATC and a full time mommy and flower farmer! Her days are arguably more exhausting now hanging out with her BFF, Brielle, and Brielle’s baby brother, David Joseph III. Brielle is three and is basically running the show here. She loves the outdoors, owls, unicorns and every kind of animal, especially her pup, Knox, who just adores her. She likes picking dandelions and is saving all of her pennies to upgrade her tractor.

Dave is the muscle and charming good looks behind the camera and rototiller. He is responsible for keeping Chyla’s overzealous ideas in check and enjoys all things hunting and fully embraces being wrapped around Brie’s little finger. Besides his multiple side gigs, Dave is a special education teacher and coach.

Fun Fact: Chyla grew up in Mason, an itty-bitty town in northwestern Wisconsin. Current population is 87 folks, and a postoffice, bar and train depot make up the little village. Mason still holds a piece of Chyla’s heart even though she is now 6 hours south-east. Across the field from their current home is Mason Creek, which seemed more than appropriate when naming their new flower business.

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for being here. We hope our flowers can add some joy to your life!

“I must have flowers, always and always.”
